This is the weekly quiz for 16 October 2012 for the CSC 1009 course. Please do this quiz after you have completed the rest of assignment 5. It should take between one half hour and 2 1/2 hours to complete if you are well prepared, longer if not.

  1. Explain how to record a macro in Excel and give an example of when doing so would be useful.

  2. Explain how to record a macro in OpenOffice calc.

  3. Explain what VBA is. An give the code of a VBA Hello Word macro.

  4. Explain the 'primary reason' that VBA does not work in Calc.

  5. Explain inverse kinematics.

  6. For one half the value of this quiz, summarize your 'detailed, thoughtful proposal of an original spreadsheet simulation project for your portfolio project' and give the URL or that proposal.

  7. For extra credit, worth up to one full quiz, give the URL of the blog that has the public notes on this course you have made thus far this semester. You can only get full credit if the dates of the blog entries reflect having maintained the notes since the start of the course, but you can have half credit for doing a thorough job of generating all those notes now.
