No assignments will be accepted late. No assignments will be accepted on paper. No assignments will be accepted on diskettes. An assignment is late if the email is sent after the start of the class at which it is due. The grade for the assignment will be sent back to the email address from which the assignment email was sent. In the case of group assignments in which multiple students are involved, one student should be the sender of the email and the other students should be listed both in the email "CC:" list and in the body of the message.

In preparing for the examination, be certain you can define each of the major terms used in Knuth using the terminology in Knuth.
In preparing for the examination, be certain that you are able to do the following for each of the major algorithms in Knuth:
In addition, you will be given a problem for which you will be asked to do a thorough, detailed, well thought-out design of appropriate algorithms for the stated problem. The problem is not likely to be a problem you have seen before, but a good solution will draw on several different algorithms you will have encountered in Knuth if you have read all of it. The problem will count for 40% of the examination. For each algorithm you present as a part of the solution to the problem you will be expected to explain the alternatives you considered, why you chose the algorithm you chose, and give time and space estimates.
During the final, you will not have access to a computer nor to any other electronic devices. You will have an examination paper and you will write your answers in blue books. Grading for the course will be done over the following weekend, and no materials will be accepted for grading after the close of the final exam.
The exam will not be available online. There is no option of taking the exam via Skype. If you are late, you will still have to turn in your work at 7:36 pm. Be present and be present on time. Bring a pen.
